She was the only child of Dr. James Richard DUNCAN and of Catherine his wife. She was married to Doctor Harlan ROARK on the 6th day of December, 1864. She came to Harvey County, Kansas in 1876 and in 1881 took up residence in Harper County where she lived until 1897 when she returned to Harvey County. Since 1907 she has made her home with children. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1888, an infant daughter, and two sons, James Henry and D.H. The ones left to mourn her death are, Mrs. Kittie BROCKWAY of Norman, Okla., John T. ROARK of Isabella, Okla., Thomas J.D. Roark of Newton, Kansas, Robert M. Roark, also of Newton; Mrs. Maud PEPPERS of Webster City, Iowa; Dr. G.L. Roark of Harwarden, Iowa and William H. Roark of Klamath Falls, Oregon. In addition she leaves 27 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. At the age of 13 years she became a member of the Baptist church to which she remained faithful until her death which occured at Hawarden, Iowa, May 11th, 1919, having attained the age of 72 years, 8 months and 8 days. In addition to the children, who were all here, the following from out of town attended the funeral: Mrs. Fannie Roark, Mr. Erdice Brockway and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Muldrow of Norman, Okla., Mrs. J. T. Roark and Mrs. R.M. Roark and children of Newton, Kans., Dr. J.L. PEPPERS and children of Webster City, Iowa, Mrs. G.L. Roark and children of Harwarden, Iowa, Mrs. J.H.
