Stephens. Harper County lost one of its old and respected citizens in the passing away, April 23, of Joseph H. STEPHENS of Attica. He came to this country in an early day and by thrift and industry succeeded in accumulating a good amount of this world's goods. He was a successful farmer and stockman. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He was sixty-one years old and leaves his widow, five daughters, and one son to mourn his departure. The funeral services were conducted at his home by Rev. W.E. KELLY, Christian minister of Harper. Mr. Stephens was a loyal member of the Christian church at Attica and as they have no pastor at present, Rev. Kelly was called to officiate at the funeral as they had been warm friends for several years. Notwithstanding the inclemancy of the weather and the bad roads a large crowd attended the services and followed the body to the Attica cemetery where it was buried by the I.O.O.F. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/harper/obits/s/stephens1106gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
