The marriage of Miss Jennie C. SMITH of Salina to Mr. Andrew F. SENTER of Anthony, occurred last evening at 5:30 at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. C.H. SMITH, on University avenue, just south of the Normal University. Rev. Creigo of the Baptist church officiated, and the ceremony was very simple and pronounced with all due solemnity befitting the occasion. Miss Smith is the youngest daughter of Mrs. C. H. Smith and Mrs. Senter is the superintendent of the city schools of Anthony, Kan. She is a graduate of the Normal University in the teachers' course, and has taught in this county. Mr. SENTER bears the degree of B.S. and holds a state certificate. Both are graduates of the Normal College and are held in high esteem by the faculty and students. The ceremony was attended by the faculty of the college and a few invited friends. The happy couple left for Wichita last eveing on the Missouri Pacific amidst a shower of rice, old shoes, etc., their baggage entwined with white ribbon and labeled "Handle with care; newly married," and other joking placards. They will visit a few days in Wichita before going on to Anthony, where they wil immediately go to housekeeping.
