About forty or fifty of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. MORRIS' friends gave them a surprise reception at their residence Tuesday evening of this week. Superintendent Heath made a congratulatory speech, which was responded to by Mr. Morris in a vein that put everybody in a laughing mood who were not already in that state. Everybody shook hands with Charley and his bride when they arrived and again when they went away. They were both congratulated, but it is our opinion that the heft of the congratulations were extended to Charley, and we can say without any fear of getting into a controversy that all agreed that he was a most lucky man in securing such a wife. The host, hostess and guests spent a jolly hour together.
