Mrs. HOFFA and Miss CARVER had many friends here who regret this untimely death and extend deepest sympathy to the bereaved sisters. Miss Carrie CARVER, who lived for many in Circleville, Kan., but who for the last few months has resided in Long Beach, Calif., passed away in that city Thursday morning, Sept. 14, 1922, as a result of an operation. She had not been well for a few days but was up and about as usual until Monday of that week when she was suddenly taken ill and it became apparent that an operation was imperative. The operation was performed on Tuesday evening and although a very serious one she rallied from it, and hopes were entertained for her recovery when she suddenly died, at the age of 49 years, 11 months and 9 days. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Maggie EVERITT of Howard, Kan., and Mrs. Bella HOFFA of Long Beach, Calif. Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 18, at the Mottell funeral parlors, Long Beach, Calif. They were conducted by the Rev. D.J. Snyder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church of that city. He took for his text, Rom. 8:35. "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" Mrs. Elmer FREY, choir director of Trinity Lutheran choir, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In the Garden." Miss Carver was a person of winsome personality whom to know was to love, and although her residence in Long Beach was brief she had made many warm friends who mourn her early death. She was born in McEwensville, Pa., and spent her early years in that place. She was about to unite with the Lutheran Church when she was suddenly called from the Church Militant to the Church Triumphant. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/jackson/obits/c/carver779gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
