She had made such a brave, strong fight for life and strength again that everyone in the community was hoping and trusting that she would be restored to health. But having been sick for 13 long months the task was too great for her strength. The reporter has known "Mamie" as she was known by all--ever since she was a small school girl and we know of no one who had more friends. She was quiet, unassuming, trying to help in every way possible any good cause in the neighborhood. It seems sad to see one in the prime of a useful life and strength in death, but still sadder to see one stricken to whom life meant so much in her home. There is nothing more precious more everlasting, more divine than the radiant sunshine of a mother's love and affection in the home. The sympathy of all goes out to her husband, two daughters and mother. Miss Mamie STRONG was born near Holton and died at her home northeast of Mayetta, November 23, 1922, aged 38 years, and 3 months. She was united in marriage to Clark COLEMAN, in 1904. Those suriving her are her husband, two daughters, Erma, 17 years and Mary 14 years, and her mother and two brothers. The funeral was held at the M.E. church at Mayetta of which she was a faithful member and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. SHULER. One of the largest gatherings ever assembled in Mayetta came to pay their tribute to a good true character. The remains were laid to rest in the Holton cemetery beside her father who died a few years ago. The whole community extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/jackson/obits/c/coleman987gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
