She was the only sister in a family with seven brothers, two of whom died in childhood. She spent her girlhood in her native town where later she was united in marriage to E.J. DAVIS of Holton, Kan. Four children were of this union, two girls, Mrs. Elizabeth LATIMER of Lander, Wyo., Mrs. Ruth V. ANDERSON of near Circleville, Kan., Francis L. of Holton and Ralph E. of Lander, Wyo. These children were all present. Her five brothers were also present, Wm. and John of Knoxville, Ill., Thomas S. of Harrison, Nebr., Lewis of Council Bluff, Iowa, and Albert of Elmo, Mo.; Mrs. A. PEACE of Wichita, a cousin, her only relative in Kansas. Mrs. Davis was a woman of sterling qualities, a thoughtful, loving mother, a kind and sympathetic sister and an appreciated neighbor. Besides the children she leaves a loving husband who must now travel alone. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. L.F. WARING. Music was furnished by Miss Alta FRANCIS, Miss Allie WOLVERTON, A.W. BENDER, Zara BROWN. The pallbearers were Mrs. DAVIS' five brothers, William and John DREDGE, Knoxville, Ill. Thomas Dredge, Harrison, Nebr., Lewis Dredge, Council Bluffs, Ia., Albert Dredge, Elmo, Mo. and O.H. CLARK, Holton. Mrs. Anna SCHOOLEY and O.C. DAVIS of Kansas City, sister and brother of Mr. E.J. DAVIS and Mrs. S. CONNER of Wichita were present at the funeral. Mrs. A.J. WAY of the G.A.R. Circle made a talk in behalf of the Circle to which the deceased belonged.
