Marteney. Died at the home of his son, C. C. Marteney, 5 miles northeast of Mayetta on Monday, September 26, 1910, of heart failure. This gentleman was born in Barber County, West Virginia, April 15th, 1838, and was at the time of his death, 72 years, 5 months and 11 days of age. He leaves a son, C.C. Marteney, and a daughter, Mrs. Clarence MARSHALL, of this immediate vicinity. Mr. Marteney was a civil war veteran and thus another of the grand army of heros has passed to the other side. Honored and respected in life all mourn the passing away of another of those brave men that took their lives in their hands that our country should be free. Interment took place Wednesday in the cemetery at Denison. Rev. Adell officiating. The funeral was under the charge of Undertaken J. M. Goheen.
