Columbus Judson MARTIN was born at Livonia, Ind., on the 16th day of January, 1855. Died at the Wesley hospital, Wichita, Kan., December 25, 1922. Age 67 years, 11 months and 9 days, after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Martin had been in poor health for several years but never complaining even to his nearest friends. Being of a quiet disposition he was always kind and considerate of others and in his last sickness was especially so. He was a member of the Methodist church and lived a quiet Christian life.. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Alice Martin, three sons, and four daughters; Mrs. Robert LITTLE of Emporia, Kan.; Mrs. G.W. DOWNING of Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. R.G. HORTON of Hartford, Kan.; Mrs. G. PORTER of Emporia, Kan.; Verne J. Martin of Argonia, Kan.; Lauran M. Martin of Milan, Kan.; Dewey Martin of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. S.D. BROWN of Salem, Ind. All were at the funeral except Mrs. Porter who was not able to be there. Also one sister, Mrs. S.D. Brown, being in Florida was not able to get there. Mr. Martin had many friends. His remains were laid to rest in the Maple Grove cemetery, Wichita, Kan.
