MORRIS an old and highly respected citizen of Birmingham, died last Monday and was buried yesterday, aged 84 years. Mr. Morris was born in Floyd county, May 22, 1816. He came to Kansas and settled in this county some fifteen years ago. His wife died some eight years ago and the family remaining consists of one daughter in Kentucky, one son in the army in the Philippines, and three sons in this county, one of whom is Frank Morris in Johnston's barber shop. The deceased joined the Baptist church when a young man and remained faithful to that branch of the church until his death. Rev. Brown conducted the funeral services in the Baptist church, in this city, yesterday at 11 o'clock, after which the remains were laid in the cemetery west of town. The surviving members of the family of J.G. Morris lately deceased desire to return their thanks to the friends and neighbors for their kindess and good offices, during the sickness and on the occasion of the funeral of their father.
