Mrs. Pruitt had been a sufferer from kidney trouble for some time and the death angel came as a welcome visitor to carry her home to the realms where suffering and sorrow are unknown. Mr. Pruitt was converted and baptised August 26, 1921, and lived a devoted Christian life and seemed to be ready and willing to meet her Savior. Martha N. GRABLE was born in Buchanan county, Missouri, February 27, 1849. She was united in marriage to James Pruitt, Nov. 11, 1865, at Geary City. To this union were born eleven children, nine of whom with her aged husband survive. The surviving children are Mrs. Arthur SCHURMAN and Mrs. R.C. HARGROVE, Effingham; Mrs. Bert MALLORY and Mrs. Ora HOLLENBACK, Larkin; Mrs. Geo. REECE, Oakley; Mrs. Daisy MALLORY and Claude PRUITT, Topeka; James of Densmore, and George of Osborne. Mrs. Pruitt has lived practically all of her life in this vicinity. Coming here at an early day, she underwent the hardships of raising a large family, when conveniences were not to be had as they are now, but she was energetic and sur! mounted the difficulties. Since her health bgan to fail two years or more ago, she has spent the greater part of her time at the Schurman home, where she was happy and contented because of the welcome, care and attention bestowed upon her by the entire Schurman family. She was a loving and affectionate mother and a kind neighbor, and in her later years she was an example for us all by her patience. She will be missed, but may the Heavenly Father be the comforter of all those near and dear to her. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Schurman home with Rev. Ballou in charge and interment will be made in the Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Chas. AZLEIN, Claude MEYER, Mr. and Mrs. Henry HIGLEY will furnish the music and the pallbears.
