SEWELL, was born near Circleville, Kansas, March 16, 1913, and departed this life at his home in Bancroft, Kansas, Saturday morning, February 3, 1923, aged 9 years, 10 months and 17 days. After the death of his mother in September, 1915, he lived with Grandpa and Grandma Sewell three years. The remaining years were spent in the home of his papa and new mamma, proving a blessing and sunbeam each day. A year ago a little sister came to gladden his life, whom he was very proud. He was a bright and thoughtful boy with a reasoning power far beyond his age. He was a great favorite among his teachers and schoolmates. Their presence in a body and the supreme reverence with which they stood at attention in open ranks as the little casket was carried to and from the church bespoke their love and sympathy. Many beautiful floral tributes bore further evidence of real sorrow. The funeral was conducted by his friend, M.G. HAMM, and pastor GILPIN at the church at Bancroft. A short and appropriate service was held at the Holton cemetery chapel for friends unable to attend the services at Bancroft. The little body was laid to rest by the side of his mother, to await the glad call to light, life and immortality in the celestial city.
