Snavely, 68, Educator, Is Dead. William S. SNAVELY, 68, 2912 Randolph, died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital. He was born July 6, 1896 at Huron in Atchison County. He was an educator for many years, having taught at Hamlin in Brown County two years and at Lillis in Marshall County four years. He also served as high school principal at Vermillion in Marshall County, at Centralia in Nemaha County and at Netawaka in Jackson County. He was retired. He was graduated from Ottawa University in 1921. He was a member of the Netawaka Methodist Church, Lodge No. 320, AF&AM, at Vermillion and Phi Kappa Delta, national debating society. He was a honorary life member of the Kansas State Teachers Assn. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen C. Snavely, at home; a son, William H. Snavely, Jr., Lima, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Helen SMITH, Fort Collins, Colo., Mrs. Anne COULTER, 1308 Cornwall, and Mrs. Martha MEIDL, Alamorgordo, N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Grace HAWK, Winfield and 10 grandchildren.
