THOMAS died at her home in Orchard Grove Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.E. Platz in C.J. Hardin's undertaking rooms on Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning the body was taken to Capioma for burial. A daughter, Mrs. MOORE, of St. Joseph, and two sons, one from Florence and one from Dension attended the funeral. =============== Same Newspaper: January 21, 1909 Mrs. A. S. Thomas. Mahalia SPENCER, was born June 7, 1830 in Jennings county Indiana, came to Kansas in the fall of 1855. She was married to James McALLISTER about the years 1852. Some ten years later after coming to Kansas her husband died and left her with three children. She was married to Rev. A.S. Thomas in the year 1893 who with the three children, David and William McAllister and Mrs. Emma MOORE, survive her. Mrs. Thomas united with the Church of Christ in 1895 and lived a faithful and devoted Christian life until her death which occurred January 9, 1909, at her home in Holton. She was taken to Capioma for burial.
