Mary Batteese WAMEGO was born in 1861 and died January 15, 1923, in a hospital
in Kansas City. On June 16, 1880, she was married to Joseph Wamego. To this
union were born 12 children, six boys and six girls. Mrs. Wamego has been in
failing health since June, 1922, and all that could be done was done to prolong
her lfie but it wasn't to be, so on January 15, 1923, she passed away. She
leaves a husband and six children and other relatives to mourn her loss. The
remains were brought here for burial and funeral services were conducted by
Father F.A. Geintiz, where a large crowd attended to pay their last respects to
the dead. After the funeral was over and the last look the remains were laid to
rest in Shepsee cemetery west of Mayetta. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved
family.
