Olathe Register: A very pretty wedding was celebrated Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of the Mrs. Esther J. Mahaffy on South Water street, when her youngest daughter, Miss Emma, became the wife of Mr. James HUNTER, of Holton, Kansas. The pretty ceremony was read by Rev. E.L. McKnight of the Reformed Presbyterian church, assisted by by Dr. Coulter. The wedding was a very quiet one and witnessed by only the relatives and very close friends. The house was prettily decorated for the occasion with asparagus and trailing vines of myrtle interwoven with flowers, the color tones being pin, green and white. The bride was daintily growned in a rob of white hardwoven batiste trimmed in fillet and valencines lace and bands of sheer embroidery. She carried an arm bouquet of white carnations. She wore white slippers that were older than she. They were first worn by her aunt, Mrs. W.A. Boyd, at her wedding, later by a sister of the bride at her wedding. Dainty refreshments were served after the ceremony, the color motif being prevalent. Punch was served during the entire afternoon. Miss Mahaffy was assisted in receiving her guests and later in serving, by the members of her Sunday school class. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter left on the evening train for Holton, Kansas, where they will visit several days before taking a short wedding trip. They will be at home to friends after September fifteenth at Conway Springs, where Mr. Hunter is principal of the city schools. Among the out of town guests present were: The groom's mother, Mrs. Nancy Hunter of Holton; Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Boyd and T.L. Bous, of Holton; A.B. Hunter of Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. S.M. McClure and family; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Mahaffy and family and John Farris of Mediapolis, Ia.; Miss Anna McClurkin of Morning Sun, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Porter and family of Kansas City and Miss Little Craton of Wilsey, Kansas. The large circle of friends joins the writer in extending best wishes.
