Clarence HEISLEMAN of St. Joseph, Mo., and Miss Velma SHINGLETON of Mayetta, Kan., were united in the holy bonds of matrimony Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the M.E. parsonage in Holton, Kan., by Rev. L.F. Waring. The ceremony was witnessed by Mrs. J.P. MITCHELL and Mr. J.N. RALSTON, of Mayetta. The bride was becomingly attired in a dark blue traveling suit with hat to match. Miss Velma has lived around here all of her life. The last three years she has assisted Mrs. J.P. Mitchell in her work at the Hotel. She says she was one of the most competent and worthy girls she ever had and was strictly honest and could be trusted anywhere. If you happened to be a little late at your meals she was always ready to get it for you. I am an eye witness to that. She has friends by the score. Mr. Heisleman worked here several years for the Coleman boys and was well liked. He served in the World War and was across the waters 14 months and made a good soldier that the government was proud of. This was one of the most beautiful weddings that was ever performed at the M.E. parsonage in Holton. They will make their home in St. Joe., where all their friends wish them a long, happy married life together. The reporter in particular adds felicitations. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/jackson/vitals/marriages/shinglet469gmr.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
