NEWELL's daughters and one of H.M. MASON's were passing along, they saw an animal whose appearance was not prepossessing, and gave it chase. It ran into a hedge and became fast, when the young ladies took a cudge and killed it. It proved to be a wolf more than half grown. This is quite a feather in the cap of the girls, and they are entitled to consideration for their bravery in attacking and vanquishing the beast. If every one would do as well, these miserable and destructive pests would soon be exterminated.
