The McLouth schools closed last Friday. Each of the teachers had planned a mode of entertainment for the pupils for the day. The High School spent the day at a grove north of town. Miss SWAIN took her little flock out to the Wild Horse neighborhood. Mis KILLEY and Miss HURLEY entertained at the school house grove in town. In the evening the graduating exercises took place at the U.B. Church. Orwell Bradley TOWNE, Head of the Department of Oratory of Washburn College, delivered an eloquent and interesting address to a large and appreciative audience. Dr. JONES presented the diplomas to the graduating class. Felicia JONES was the one receiving a High School Diploma and the following class received Grammar School Diplomas: Leah BLACK, Hazel KENYON, Roy LOBB, Minnie BLAIR, Lizzie DICK, Porter FRENCH, Claude KIMMEL, Dan ALFORD, Ray KIMMEL, Noah PERRY, Harold STEEPER, and Howell STALLARD. Professor CAROTHERS and his efficient corps of teachers deserve great credit for the good condition of our schools and we hope to see them all back in their respective places again next term. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/jefferson/newspapers/closeofs81gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
