April 9, 1909

The city election passed off very quietly here Monday. There was but one ticket
in the field and only fifty votes were cast. There was no interest manifest and
the judges and clerks had a lonesome time of it. Joel DOBBS was elected mayor;
Wesley GUEST, police judge; and W.M. EDMONDS, W.H. MYERS, R.M. SLAWSON, Chas. H.
STEEPER and C.E. CASEBIER, councilmen. All the officers elected are good,
capable men which insures the city a good administration.
