POLAN, photographic artist, formerly of this place, and three other young men, were burned to death in a hotel at Warrensburg, Mo., a few nights ago. It is supposed they were all smothered by smoke and heat before the flames reached them. This is terrible! and the many friends of Mr. Poland will be deeply pained at this intelligence, and the sad termination of his life.
