A little after 8 o'clock a man rode up to them and, presenting a revolver, demanded their money. Resistance being useless and dangerous the young man gave up his pocket-book, which contained but a small amount, their money having been placed in the wagon. Before the robber could make further advances sounds of an approaching horseman were heard and he made off. He was recognized as a fellow who had followed them through the day. The family moved up a little nearer town and spent the rest of the night.
