It was discovered about 2 o'clock, orignated in McCully's grocery store, extended to his residence and to Dick's clothing store and totally destroyed all three. We do not know the amount of loss sustained. The Broadway hotel was threatened by the flames, but was saved by the citizens, who worked manfully. Mr. H. BETTYS, from near Perry, says that he has been closely examing the eggs of the grasshoppers, digging them up from the ground for the purpose, and that it is his opinion that they been destroyed by the heat, seeming cooked by the hot ground, and he is confident they will not hatch out. So may it be! A moving spectacle occurred on our streets, a day or two ago, between two movers who were moving into or out of our State. They were man and wife, or supposed to be, and she was dissatisfied and declared she wouldn't move another step with him unless he moved off and get her something to eat. She had followed his movements as long as she was going to under such treatment, and intimated that if he didn't move lively she would move on to his forces with an officer of the law. A little girl sat in the wagon, an unmoved spectator of the scene. They finally moved on, and we are unadvised as to how the matter was settled.
