The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, April 10, 1880 April 10, 1880
The snipe hunt of the college boys on last Saturday night is represented to have
been racy and rich, especially for the two young men who held the sack between
nine and ten o'clock before they "smelt a mice" and adjourned, one quietly to
bed, and the other with the sack under his arm marching up the street with a
fine voice of experience, but minus any other booty. We guess they won't do it
again, if they do catch snipe by the sack full in Kansas City.
