The Telephone.
Has it ever occurred to you that the telephone is supplanting the telegraph?
Have you ever stopped to consider how many business men now use the telephone
instead of the telegraph in transacting their business with the city business
men? We venture the assertion that there are five telephone messages to where
there is one telegram, whereas, only a year or two ago the reverse would be true.
There are reasons for the growing popularity of the 'phones; yes, there are
several reasons.
One reason, and a very important one, is, that when you talk to a man you know
he gets your message, and you know at once whether you can get what you want
without a long wait.
