The Oskaloosa Independent,Jefferson County, Saturday, May 23, 1874 May 23, 1874
Trotting and Running Races at the Oskaloosa Fair Grounds on Saturday, June 6,
1874, at 2 o'clock p.m., $50 premiums.
Trotting Race:--Purse $35 to first, $10 to second and $5 to thrid horse.
Running Race: Private purse $15, $10 to first and $5 to second horse. Half-mile,
two in three.
Grand Exhibition, driving the trotting stallions Perry DEXTER and Frank HILL to
the pole.
Entrance fee ten per cent. of purse, and must accompnay nomination.
Admission 25 cents.
