Robison normadeplume@wmconnect.com December 14, 2008, 11:56 pm Winchester Star Joseph Franklin Baldridge J. F. Baldridge died at his home in this city last Saturday afternoon at 12:20 oc cancer. The disease had troubled him for years and he had been very ill for several weeks before his death. Mr. Baldridge had lived in Jefferson county 6 or 7 years but was moved to Winchester from near Oskaloosa last week so that the married children, all of whom live here, might aid in the caring for him. The deceased was born in Centralia, Illinois, April 6th, 1834, being 69 years of age last month. He was an old soldier and drew a small pension. A wife, seven sons and three daughters survive him. The funeral took place from the house at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. Rev. Mayfield of the Christian Church, officiating. The remains were interred in the Plum Grove cemetery.
