On Thursday, Feb. 1, 1894, James BECKET, an aged citizen of Nortonville, died at his home in the 77th year of his age. MR. BECKET was a native of Virginia. At an early age he left his native state and sought a home in the west. For a good number of years he has lived in Nortonville. Mr. BECKET was a man of a very cheerful and genial disposition, and hence was well and favorably known by nearly every resident of our city. He was familiarly known as "Uncle Jimmy." His last illness was only of four days duration. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on Friday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. S.M. HOOD, assisted by Rev. J.M. TODD.
