Jacob BOUCHER, in the 66th year of his life. He was born January 5th, 1810, in Pennsylvania; resided a few years in Ohio, then for a short period in Iowa, and came to Kansas in the spring of 1856 and settled on the farm where he died. One of the early pioneers, he passed through the exciting scenes which attended the settlement of this country, but escaped personal harm, though often in dread of impending peril. He was a member of the M.E. church for over 43 years, spent five years of his life in the itinerancy and was for many years a local minister of that church. Ripened by years of experience, and by age, he was ready when the Master called, and left a holy and hallowed influence behind, especially with those who knew him intimately during the latter years of his life. One by one fathers are passing away.
