Nellie Lodge.
Nellie E. BRITTAIN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. BRITTAIN, was born Dec. 15,
1908, at Valley Falls, and passed away at Lincoln, Neb. on July 4 at the age of 53.
She was a member of the McLouth Baptist Church and the Alcione Chapter of the
Order of Eastern Star. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Bank of
McLouth until ill health forced her retirement.
Her husband, Vernon, preceded her in death in 1940.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth SLATTON, of Topeka; and Mrs. B?????
PAYNE, Lincoln, Neb.; one son, Richard Lodge of Kansas City; her mother, Mrs.
Estella BRITTAIN, Oskaloosa; two sistesr, Mrs. Mabel CROSSWHITE, Nortonville,
and Mrs. Alice MILLER, Oskaloosa; three brothers, John of Oskaloosa, and George
and James, both of McLouth; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the McLouth Baptist Chruch with
the Rev. Mr. Shoemaker officaiting. Burial was in the McLouth cemetery.
