BURNS was born at Tipton, Mich., Sept. 22, 1839 and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sylvia MALONE, at Pueblo, Colo., at 8:15 a.m., May 9, 1930, aged 90 years, 7 months, and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Elza A. MYERS, March 4, 1866. He volunteered his service to his country August 6, 1861 serving in Co. H. 7th Volunteer Infantry of Wisconsin. He received an honorable discharge, Sept. 30, 1864. After the war he came to Kansas where he hs reside for over 50 years. His beloved wife departed this life, Oct. 9, 1924. One daughter, Ella May BURNS, passed away March 23, 1890. Surviving him is one brother, Wm. BURNS, of Tipton, Michigan, also three sons, Wm. and Harve, of Meriden, and Charles M. of Payton, Colo.; also one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia MALONE, Pueblo, Colo. Funeral services were held in the U.B. church conducted by Guy V. GATES assisted by Rev. G.M. HUFFMAN, of Topeka and Rev. D WOOD, of Meriden. Three members of the G.A.R. of Topeka were present. The body was laid to rest in Meriden cemetery.
