The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, April 19, 1879
The infant child of Mrs. CHILCOTE soon followed its mamma to "the land that is
starward." It took the diptheria and died at its new home at Dr. Balsley's last
Saturday night. Services were held at the house on Sabbath afternoon and the
little one was buried in Pleasant View cemetery.
