The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, August 15, 1874
Died, August, 22, 1874, of inflammation of the bowels, John Dennis, second son
of Hiram and Irene WEBB, aged thirteen years and two months.
Dennis was a kind and affectionate son and brother and will be sadly missed from
the family circle. He was a great sufferer during his short illness, but he was
very patient, expressed a willingness to die, bade each of his friends good-bye,
and said he was going to the Saviour.
