Postmaster Dick's Brother Dead.
Postmaster DICK received word that his brother, Thos. C. Dick, died in Fort
Worth, Texas yesterday morning. The body will be brought to Topeka where the
funeral will be held. The deceased was a former resident of this county and will
be remembered by many of the older settlers.

Death of Thos. Dick.
Thos. C. DICK, of McPherson, Kan., formerly prominent citizen of Topeka, and
well known in Jefferson county in the 70's died Wednesday morning at Fort Worth,
Texas, after an illness of only a few hours. His death occurred at the home of
his son, who is representing a Kansas City grain company at Fort Worth.
Mr. Dick was a brother Theo. Dick postmaster at McLouth and a nephew of John
Boyle of Boyle.

He was a brother-in-law of O. HOSFORD, ex-treasurer of Jefferson county, having
married "Van's" sister. 

He was county superintendent of Jefferson county in 1869 and 1870, and principal
of the Valley Falls schools in 1875-6; and moving to Topeka he was principal of
the Quincy schools there, travelling auditor of the U.P. Ry., and interested in
the grain business. He was about 68 years of age. He was born and grew to
manhood in Ohio.

He leaves three daughters in Topeka, one being employed at the state house,
another by E.M. Jolley in the Central National bank building and the other being
a teacher in the city schools. The widow and one daughter live at
McPherson.--Jefferson County Tribune.
