"Uncle Jake Faubion is dead." These are the words that were carried from lip to lip in Oskaloosa Monday. Everybody in this part of the country knew Mr. Faubion as he was a pioneer citizen having lived in Jefferson county nearly 50 years. Many knew him ony as "Uncle Jakey" He had been in poor health for a number of years and while his death was somewhat sudden it was not unexpected. He was afflicted with dropsy and that was the immediate cause of his death. He had reached the extreme old age of 80 years. Mr. Faubion was trusted and respected by everybody in the community. He was engaged in the cattle herding business during the early days. He leaves a wife and a son, who have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
