Ella Naomi FRENCH was born in McLouth, Kansas, Sept. 23, 1893 and died in McLouth, April 9, 1909 aged 15 years, 6 months and 16 days. She was taken sick of diabetes about a year previous to her death. A few weeks after the nature of her sickness was known she was taken to the home of her grandparents near Drexel, Mo., where she used water from a mineral well. She went several times to Drexel and on her last returning home the 24th of last November she was apparently well, having gained several pounds in weight. The dread disease however, was only stopped for a short time and was the cause of her death. She was bedfast only one day before her death. She was a regular attendant at the Sunday school, and joined the Christian church at Lawrence about a month before her death, being baptized by Rev. MILTON. Oma was a good girl, kind and obedient, and greatly loved by all who knew her. Her parents and brothers and sister have the sincerest sympathy of all. To them we can offer nothing better than Whittier's words referring to his dearest sister: "Any yet, dear heart! remembering thee, Am I not richer than of old? safe in thy immortality. What change can reach the wealth I hold? What chance can mar the pearl and gold They love hath left in trust with me? The funeral was held in the U.B. church last Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Milton of Lawrence assisted by Rev. E.E. McAferty and the body was laid to rest in the McLouth cemetery. The church was filled with sympathizing friends and many beautiful flowers adorned the casket. Card of Thanks. To those kind friends who sympathized with us and helped us during the sickness and death and burial of our daughter and sister, we taken this means of expressing, so far as words can express, our sincerest thanks. Mr. and Mrs. J.K.
