GRINDOL a resident of the Perry and Grantville communities for sixty years, passed away last Thursday moring in at Topeka hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Perry Methodist church, conducted by Rev. C.L. HARDER. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Miss Vivian STRANGE, Mrs. Maurice PLUMMER, James W. PLUMMER, and Wendell GOOD with Mrs. Dale STARK at the piano. Honorary pallbearers were Charles GRAMSE, J.G. TRANT, Roy DICK, Ira DICK, Dale Stark, W.H. GRINTER, Garfield SHIRLEY and George HUPE. Acting pallbearers were Maurice PLUMMER, Williard GOOD, Howard GOOD, V.C. RAINES, Jack WELTER, and Walter BROWN. Interment was in the Grantville cemetery. Samuel Arthur Grindol was born at Mt. Zion, Ill., December 11, 1873. He departed this life October 16, 1941, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 5 days. When six years of age the family left Illinois and traveled to Colorado. After a short period in Colorado the family returned to Kansas and settled at Grantville where Arthur grew to manhood. He attended grammar school and spent one years at Lane University in Lecompton. He taught school for several years after which he went to farming, spending the remainder of his life on the farm. On August 24, 1898, he was united in marraige to Ida May LAMB. To this union five children were born. After spending several years farming near Grantville and Topeka, his family moved to Perry where the children grew to manhood and womanhood. At an early age Mr. Grindol confessed his faith in our Savior. He remained very close to his faith throughout his life. He reared his family in this faith, setting examples that cannot be forgotten. His faith in Christ kept him a member of the chruch for more than fifty years. His latest membership was with the Perry Methodist church. He also was a member of the Modern Woodmen lodge for many years. His was a life of tenderness for his dear wife and children, making sacrifices and enduring hardships in order that their paths might be brighter. Now his work is done, he is at peace with his Master. His familiy and loved ones will forever cherish the loving memories of his sweet life, and be comforted in knowing that thorugh all his hardships his faith in Eternity was every strengthened. His departure from this life is greatly mourned by his wife, Mrs. Ida May Grindol; one daughter, Mrs. Charles WORTHINGTON, Watson, Kan.; four sons, William A. Grindol of Perry, Fred A. Grindol of Kansas City, Mo.; Theordore A. Grindol, and Roy F.
