The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, January 30, 1875
Killed.--Mrs. A.E. Dickinson informs us that a young son of Mrs. HEPNER, near
Meriden, was killed on last Wednesday by a tree falling upon him. Some men were
cutting the tree down, and the little boy got in the way as it fell and was
crushed so badly that he died in a few hours, being insensible from the time of
the accident. The mother of the boy came to the place just in time to witness
the sad occurance.
