The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, January 19, 1878
A Good Man Gone.--Father KIRKPATRICK died today (Jan. 16) at noon. He was born
in 1802--consequently was in his 76th year. His career has been an eventful one.
He died in the triumph of the Christian's faith, and has been gathered home to
the land of rest and peace. We have not yet learned when the funeral will take
place.
