Lowe. Jesse F. LOWE, Perry, age 88, departed this life Friday, July 14, at the Elms Nursing Home in Winchester. He was born into the home of James Henry and Eliza A. Lowe of Tipton county, Indiana, on Apr. 3, 1873. His family came to Ozawkie in the year 1880, and since that time Mr. Lowe had lived in Ozawkie and the Perry communities. He became a member of the United Brethren Church at the Lowry schools used in 1892. Later, he transferred to the Methodist church in Perry, where he was a member at the time of his death. On December 27, 1893, he was united in marriage to Annie CARTER, who preceded him in death in 1952. To this union were born 3 children; two daughters, and one son. Mr. Lowe was a devoted husband and a good neighbor and a friend to all who knew him. He served as County Commissioner of Jefferson County for two terms and as Trustee of the Fairview and Kentucky townships for several years. He is survived by his children, Mrs. Alice ROSS of Ozawkie, Mrs. Fern LANGLEY, of Oskaloosa, and Fay LOWE of Kansas City, one brother, Charles Lowe of Ozawkie; one sister, Mrs. Jennie PUDERBAUGH of Topeka. Two brothers and one sister have preceded him in death. He also leaves 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors. Services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Perry Methodist Church with the officiating clergymen: Rev. Walter SIMPSON and Rev. Chester WERBIN, minister form Iola. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Ed. HEMME, Mrs. Walter SIMPSON, Gerald DICK and Dean PERRY, with Mrs. Dale STARK as organist. Pallbearers were: Clarence BARNES, Jack WELTER, Fay SEETIN, Delos SHERMAN, Leo JONES, and Clarence MARKER. Intement was in the Ozawkie Cemetery, Ozawkie.
