With the passing of Marvin MASQUA, McLouth lost one of its outstanding citizens. Mr. Masqua was born in Brown County, Kansas, November 22, '12. With his family he moved to McLouth and soon after was appointed night watchman for the village of McLouth. He was very devoted and faithful to this responsibilty and always went far beyond the call of duty to protect the people and their property. He frequently stopped and at the home of elderly people and widows to see if they needed help. When he saw a porch lite burning late at night, he always stopped, rang the bell to help if help was needed. McLouth, under his care, has been free of any type of vandalism or burglary. Mr. Masqua suffered a fatal heart attack on the Kickapoo Reservation where he was acting as special policeman at the Indian Adoption dance at the Joe Masqua home when he was stricken. He leaves his wife, Madeline of the home, two sons, Joe of McLouth, Jay of K.C.; a daughter Joyce of Lawrence; a grandson, a sister, Mrs. John Mizhickteno of Mayetta, a brother of Horton.
