He was driven out of Missouri by the rebels at the opening of the war, and lost much of his property by reason of their ill treatment and threatening declarations. He had been a member of the M.E. church from early manhood, and was very tenacious in his vows of what he believed to be right. He was 55 years of age at the time of his death, and leaves a wife and four children to morn his loss, which will be felt in the community.
