The Meriden Message

Thursday
March 8, 1962

John T. Rice.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Hampton
Funeral Home, Oskaloos, for John T. RICE who passed away Feb. 17 in Mesa
Hospital at Mesa, Ariz.
Mr. Rice was born December 19, 1885 at Greenview, Ill. He came with his parents
to Jefferson County in 1889 where he lived until he moved from Oskaloosa to
Montara in 1937. He had lived with his son John W. and Mrs. Rice at Tempe. James
preceded him in death in 1932, his oldest son.
Survivors in addition to the son are a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia FOSTER of Great
Falls, Mont., one grandson and two great-grandsons, also of Great Falls, four
brothers, Ned(?) of Topeka, Don of Perry; Emmett of Centralia, Mo., and Loke C.
of Deer Lodge, Mont. and one sister, Mrs. Agnes GRIFFITH of Topeka. 
Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
