The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday June 16, 1877

Died on June 12th, of consumption, at the residence of W.C. Owen, in Oskaloosa
township, Wm. H. RIGGIN, of Waverly, Morgan county, Ill., aged 32 years.
Deceased, who had been suffering for some months with disease of the lungs, left
his home about the 1st of May, hoping that a change of climate would benefit his
health, stopped a few weeks in Missouri, but grew constantly worse. He arrived
here on June 6th, in a very feeble condition and continuted to faily rapidly
until his disease took him. His remains were taken in care of a friend to
Illinois for burial.
