Anna Malinda STROUSE was born at Pleasant Home, Mayne Co., Ohio, on June 7, 1868 and departed this life June 7, 1930, aged 62 years. When 13 years of age she moved with her parents to a farm near Hoyt, Kans., and her childhood was spent in the vicinity of Meriden and Topeka. On Aug. 25, 1895, she was united in marriage to Wm. DEPPE and came to a farm near Ozawkie, which has since been her home. To this union were born seven children, Ina, Marie, Eva Irene, Fredrick Abraham, Harry Albert, Anna Christena, and two others who died in infancy. In addition to these she leaves a sister, Mrs. Christena CUNNINGHAM of Herington, Kans., and one brother, A.G. STROUSE of Lincoln, Neb., to mourn her departure. Under the administration of Rev. RANCH she united with the United Brethren church and retained her membership until the time of her death. Possessed of a disposition which adjusted itself to all circumstances she soon became a well-known and valued member of the community in which she lived, self-sacrificiing she was at the call of any one in need, and she was often told that she did beyond her strength. A loving mother, of whom none can testify as can the children and husband whom she leaves behind. In her death the community has suffered a loss that will never be replaced. Her home, often the scene of joyous parties, is darkened by sorrow and will no longer be the happy meeting place of children and friends, and her cheery smile and words will be sadly missed by the family and a host of friends who survive her. Funeral services were held form the church of the Brethren Sunday, 2 p.m. Rev. Brammell in charge assisted by Rev. Jones. Interment was made at Meriden. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/jefferson/obits/s/strouse360gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
