TAYLOR was born in Culpepper county, Virginia, June 9, 1827. He moved with his parents to Iowa in 1838. He was united in marriage to Mary R. SHAMP, Dec. 2, 1853. They moved to Kansas and settled near Oskaloosa in Jefferson County in 1859. He died at the home of his daughter, Mary RIDGWAY, South of McLouth, Jan. 15, 1907, aged seventy nine years, seven months and six days. For some time he had been quite feeble and about three weeks before his death he fell on the stairway breaking his hip which hastened his death. The funeral took place from the M.E. church, Jan. 16th, at 2 o'clock. Rev. G.F. Sanders preached the funeral sermon and Matt Edmonds reviewed the events of his life.
