The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, April 25, 1874
Died.--Friday, April 17, 1874, at Topeka, Mr. Anthony A. WARD, aged 61 years.
Mr. Ward was probably the oldest white settler of Kansas who has continually
lived in the State, he having moved to this territory in 1841, being then
connected with the Indian agency. He leaves a most estimable family, who have
our sincere sympathy in their bereavement
