The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, October 17, 1874

Sucide.--Many of our readers will recollect the insane man named George
WILLIAMS, recently sent from near Medina, this county, to the asylum. He escaped
from that institution a few days ago, and was found dead in the woods, he having
hanged himself with a strip of hickory bark. This is the second time, we
believe, that he has escaped.
