Sometime between the hours of 11 o'clock Sunday night and 5 o'clock Monday morning Charles YOUNG, a farmer lliving 3 miles north of Perry, tied a rope around his neck, fastened the other end to the barn door and jumped from the hay mow. His neck was broken. Young has been troubled about some financial matters and it is supposed that continual brooding over this caused him to take his life. Sunday evening he was in his usual spirits until about nine o'clock when he went to the barn. His wife went down and talked with him, asking him to come to the house, but he refused. Mrs. Young then returned to the house and lying down, fell asleep. She did not awaken until 5 o'clock Monday morning. Looking out she saw her husband hanging beside the barn. The coroner was notified and held an inquest, the jury returning a verdict in accordance with the above facts.
