The Oskaloosa Independent, Jefferson County, Saturday, May 29, 1875
Married.--At the residence of the bride's father, W.H. Ralston, Esq., on
Thursday, May 20, 1875, by Rev. T.F. Houts, Mr. William DILL, Esq., and Miss May
E. RALSTON, all of Leavenworth city, Kansas.
The wedding of two of the brightest and most highly prized ornaments of
Leavenworth's best society was an unusually pleasant and interesting occasion.
Our regrets at being unable to be present are only equaled by our good wishes
for the happy couple so auspiciously united. May their wedded lives only the
more fully and truly carry out the great promise of their individual lives. We
trust the river of life will flow smoothly for them, and when tempests do arise,
that with Love at the helm and an anchor of Hope, their bark may safely outride
the storms and finally reach the haven of Rest and Peace!
The wedding was a quiet one, with only personal friends in attendance, and the
numerous beautiful and valuable presents to the bride were but as many evidences
of the warm places for her which exist in the hearts of those who best know her
goodness and worth.
